Location, Location, Location

Brighton is in an ideal location, between the sea and the beautiful countryside of the North and South Downs. It has excellent transport links — you can get to London in under an hour. You can also easily reach other interesting places by train or bus like Oxford, Cambridge, and Portsmouth.

Brighton is a big city, but with smaller areas within it, like Portslade. You can study at Loxdale Centre in the peace and quiet of the countryside, then explore all that Brighton has to offer in your free time.

Things to Do

During the day — even in bad weather — you'll find plenty to keep you occupied:

Indoor Activities: - Swimming and ten-pin bowling - The gym or cinema (watching films is an enjoyable way to improve your English!)

Outdoor Fun: - Walk along Brighton's stunning seafront - The walk from Brighton's Palace Pier to Hove lagoon is 5km each way - Explore the famous beach huts and arches along the promenade - Spend time on the pebble beach during summer - Try a traditional '99' ice cream cone with a chocolate flake!

Sporting Events

Brighton is home to Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and Brighton & Hove Cricket Club. The London to Brighton cycle race takes place every June — a charity event organised by the British Heart Foundation.

Winter in Brighton

From November to January, you can go ice skating outside the Royal Pavilion on the Old Steine — perfect for Instagram photos! Browse the narrow streets of the Lanes or shop in Churchill Square. For vintage lovers, the North Laines has endless independent boutiques to explore.
