Anna has led Loxdale since 2006, bringing a lifetime of EFL experience from her family's language school in Salisbury. As Principal and Safeguarding Officer, she ensures every student feels welcomed, supported, and able to reach their potential. Her office door is always open. She holds a Business Studies degree and RSA CELTA.

James oversees academic standards and the teaching team at Loxdale. With 15 years of teaching experience across language schools and Sussex University, he combines academic expertise with creativity – he's also a musician who toured with Bonobo and led his own band, The Miserable Rich.

Karen joined Loxdale in 2001 and has been part of the Loxdale family even longer – she became a host family in 1987. Having worked in hotel reception, British Telecom, and housing administration, she brings warmth and professionalism to her role and is always happy to help with payment queries.

Jodie has been looking after Loxdale students since 2014. She carefully matches each student with the right homestay host, conducts all home visits, and ensures DBS checks for young learner accommodation. As Welfare Officer, she's here if you're unwell, unhappy, or just need someone to talk to.

Mike joined Loxdale in 2018 after 12 years as a stay-at-home dad (and previously working at a family-run language school in Salisbury). He liaises with agents, answers student enquiries, and helps ensure everyone feels welcomed and well-informed from their first contact with Loxdale.

Matt has been teaching at Loxdale for nearly 3 years. Having lived in the Middle East, India, California, Italy, and Colombia, he brings global perspective to his classes. He specialises in pronunciation, fluency, and grammar, ensuring the classroom is a relaxed space where it's okay to make mistakes.

Born and bred in Brighton, Jack grew up as a host brother to hundreds of Loxdale students. After teaching in Spain and Colombia, he returned home. He teaches Digital Media courses and is passionate about supporting students with learning difficulties – as a dyslexic person himself.

Stuart joined Loxdale in 2017 after six years teaching in Madrid and Granada. He holds a TESOL Diploma with a focus on classroom anxiety. He teaches General English plus specialist courses in Grammar, Reading, and Drama – he even delivered one-to-one classes to the Director of the Alhambra Palace!

Katy has been teaching English for over 22 years across Italy, Ireland, and the UK. She's taught Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, IELTS), Business English, and even English for Italian police officers! Part Swedish herself, she feels at home at Loxdale.

Michael loves the English language – especially grammar! He teaches Debate, Creative Writing, and Grammar courses at Loxdale. Loxdale is his 27th different school – and by some distance, the best. An avid traveller who has visited India, Australia, North America, and across Europe.

Kate has taught Art at Loxdale for about 10 years. A freelance artist and textile designer with a studio at Phoenix Art Space in central Brighton, she brings creativity and professional experience to every class. She makes limited edition silkscreen prints and paints in acrylics.

Sonja joined Loxdale in 2019 after teaching in Malta. With 20 years in health and social care before teaching, she brings a person-centred, supportive approach to her classroom. She's passionate about working with students in a creative and supportive way.

Originally from Tasmania, Heather has lived in the UK for nearly half her life, teaching across Australia, Spain, and England. She teaches General English, delivers talks on Tasmania, and runs an Art Appreciation course. Nothing quite compares to Loxdale – a quaint oasis hidden behind the busy roads.

Lucy came to teaching later in life, after careers in social care, childminding, and running a Personal Training company in Morocco where she lived for 8 years and learnt Arabic. She brings real-world experience and warmth to her classes and feels very lucky to work in such a creative community.

Lianna has managed Loxdale's digital presence since 2017. Originally from London, she now works remotely from California but remains a proud part of the Loxdale family, keeping the website updated and supporting marketing initiatives worldwide.

Sabrina joined Loxdale in 2024, bringing experience from the wellness and fitness industry and community care during the pandemic. She strengthens connections with schools and agencies worldwide, ensuring every student feels welcomed and supported from initial enquiry.

Alison has been feeding Loxdale students since 1995 and took over as Catering Manager in 2008. She caters for 40 to 140 students and is happy to accommodate any dietary requirements. She loves chatting with students about their food preferences and has even had students cook their favourite dishes for the whole school!
