    About This Programme

English Summer Camp for Children Aged 8–12

We love running our popular pre-teen programme for children aged 8 to 12. Our courses and teachers harness the natural energy and enthusiasm of young learners, making English lessons both interactive and fun.

We work hard to increase your child's confidence whilst pushing them to achieve as much as possible academically. On arrival, students are tested and placed into the appropriate class with children from around the world.

    English Lessons & Syllabus

At Loxdale, we run a popular, fun, and academically rigorous pre-teen course. This age group has enormous potential as learners, and our lessons harness that through a wide range of classroom activities of shorter duration, supported by a clear daily routine.

Suitable for all younger students of English—whether as an introduction to the language or extra study for talented students who already have a good level.

In class, our teachers use specialised EFL learning material alongside realia so students make the most of their stay in the UK. We teach about the places they'll visit on excursions and various aspects of British culture and traditions.

Loxdale attracts highly-skilled pre-teen language students, and we have the experience to ensure all children fulfil their learning goals whilst having a memorable experience.

    Student Welfare & Safety

We take welfare very seriously at Loxdale and pride ourselves on looking after your children. Our pre-teens are supervised by teachers and staff at all times to ensure their safety and security.

    Ages 8–11

Cannot walk anywhere off-site without a staff member or parent. Homestay students require daily transfers (additional cost).

    Age 12

May walk to and from school with parental permission. Not permitted elsewhere without staff supervision.

    With Parent

Parents staying with their child are expected to bring them to and from school daily. We'll share the full timetable.

    Before Arrival

All parents complete a Safeguarding Form before their child arrives, providing information about health and well-being. If there's anything else we should know, please email us directly or include it on the booking form.

Homesickness is rare. We keep students busy with a fully inclusive programme—lessons, afternoon and evening activities (Monday–Friday), and Saturday and Sunday excursions—so they don't have too much time to miss home. When it does occur (usually at bedtime), our caring staff are always on hand to help.

    Social Activities Programme

After morning classes, students continue having fun on our afternoon and evening social programme. We offer a mixture of art, crafts, drama, team games, visits, and sports activities.

    Staff-to-Student Ratios

    • On-site activities: 1 staff per 10 students
    • Off-site excursions: 1 staff per 8 students

Low ratios ensure individual attention for every child.
