A Fun & Safe English
Summer Camp for Kids
Give your child an unforgettable summer of fun, friendship, and English — in a safe, nurturing, and fully supervised environment. Ages 8–12, all-inclusive.
English Summer Camp for Children Aged 8–12
We love running our popular pre-teen programme for children aged 8 to 12. Our courses and teachers harness the natural energy and enthusiasm of young learners, making English lessons both interactive and fun.
We work hard to increase your child's confidence whilst pushing them to achieve as much as possible academically. On arrival, students are tested and placed into the appropriate class with children from around the world.
English Lessons & Syllabus
At Loxdale, we run a popular, fun, and academically rigorous pre-teen course. This age group has enormous potential as learners, and our lessons harness that through a wide range of classroom activities of shorter duration, supported by a clear daily routine.
Suitable for all younger students of English—whether as an introduction to the language or extra study for talented students who already have a good level.
In class, our teachers use specialised EFL learning material alongside realia so students make the most of their stay in the UK. We teach about the places they'll visit on excursions and various aspects of British culture and traditions.
Loxdale attracts highly-skilled pre-teen language students, and we have the experience to ensure all children fulfil their learning goals whilst having a memorable experience.
Interactive Learning
Short, engaging activities harnessing children's natural energy and enthusiasm.
All Levels Welcome
From complete beginners to talented students already confident in English.
Cultural Immersion
Learn about British culture, traditions, and the places they'll visit on excursions.
Real-World Materials
Specialised EFL resources combined with realia so students make the most of their UK stay.
Student Welfare & Safety
We take welfare very seriously at Loxdale and pride ourselves on looking after your children. Our pre-teens are supervised by teachers and staff at all times to ensure their safety and security.
Ages 8–11
Cannot walk anywhere off-site without a staff member or parent. Homestay students require daily transfers (additional cost).
Age 12
May walk to and from school with parental permission. Not permitted elsewhere without staff supervision.
With Parent
Parents staying with their child are expected to bring them to and from school daily. We'll share the full timetable.
Before Arrival
All parents complete a Safeguarding Form before their child arrives, providing information about health and well-being. If there's anything else we should know, please email us directly or include it on the booking form.
Homesickness is rare. We keep students busy with a fully inclusive programme—lessons, afternoon and evening activities (Monday–Friday), and Saturday and Sunday excursions—so they don't have too much time to miss home. When it does occur (usually at bedtime), our caring staff are always on hand to help.
Social Activities Programme
After morning classes, students continue having fun on our afternoon and evening social programme. We offer a mixture of art, crafts, drama, team games, visits, and sports activities.
Staff-to-Student Ratios
- •On-site activities: 1 staff per 10 students
- •Off-site excursions: 1 staff per 8 students
Low ratios ensure individual attention for every child.

Common Areas
The Loxdale Mansion
Our historic Victorian building is a safe and inspiring home for your child. Set in private gardens in the quiet residential area of Portslade, it's a world away from busy city streets — yet just a short bus ride from Brighton's famous seafront.
On-Site Residence (Recommended for Ages 8–12)
All children live in our comfortable on-site residence. We have 7 student bedrooms with normally 2 to 4 students per room. Many rooms are en-suite, and we have independent bathrooms and toilets throughout the building. Staff have their bedrooms on-site for 24/7 supervision.
Healthy Meals
Three healthy meals a day: cooked hot lunch at school during the week (Monday–Friday), packed lunch at weekends, and breakfast and dinner daily. We cater for all dietary requirements including allergies, vegetarian, vegan, halal, and other needs (special diets £20/week; vegetarian at no extra charge). Just let us know when you book.
Private Gardens
Our large, private gardens are perfect for safe, supervised play and outdoor activities. Children enjoy garden games, picnics, and fresh air in a secure, enclosed space.
Homestay Option (Ages 8–11 — With Conditions)
Homestay is available for children aged 8–11 at £400/week (up to 4 weeks), but there is an important condition: if living without a parent, this age group must have a daily transfer service to and from school (arranged separately). Most parents of younger children choose residential for the peace of mind of 24/7 campus supervision.
Contact us to discuss which option suits your child best.
