Our Summer Intensive English course makes you work a little more!
Loxdale English Centre is in partnership with the The English Language Centre in Brighton. This is another British Council accredited school, approximately 5km from Loxdale. Students who choose to study on this course will have lessons at the ELC premises at Palmeira Square, Hove. The direct bus from Loxdale to ELC takes 15 minutes.
The Summer Intensive English Course offers a balanced programme helping you to work on essential grammar, vocabulary, idioms, pronunciation and colloquial language. All English skills will be covered during this course; Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. We work hard to develop your confidence and fluency with every day English.
You will also have afternoon lessons on Mondays to Thursdays with like-minded classmates to push you to achieve the most you can during your stay.
Our maximum class size is just 12 students, which means you will receive personal attention from your teacher at all times.
This summer intensive English course is suitable for students with all levels of English. All students have a test and an interview on their first day to establish their level of English.
Learning Hours
On the Summer Intensive course you will study 25 lessons a week. This is a total of 18.75 hours each week. You can study on the course for as many weeks’ as you like. If you would like to study for 30 lessons a week, just contact Loxdale to ask for prices.
Placement Test
All students have a test and an interview on their first day to establish their level of English. If you are unsure of your level of English, you can take our test before you enrol.
English Level
Working with Council of Europe Language Level Scale, have a look and see what level you think you are.
Specialist Tuition
Do you want to combine the group lessons with some individual tuition? You can choose to add one-to-one lessons to your course. This means you will have the chance to work on your particular language needs or interests.

When studying with our partner school, your accommodation is organised by Loxdale English Centre. It is a maximum of 35 minute bus journey to the ELC school in Palmeira Square. Bus passes are about £24 per week or a daily bus pass is £5.50.
The School is open until 17:00. You can stay at school to use the garden, computer room, self-study room or classrooms to continue your studies or just to socialise with your friends.
