Loxdale isn’t like most other language schools when you study with us you will have access to the widest possible choice of courses, each of which is based on active student participation and designed to reinforce your learning experience and appreciation of the English language and culture.
If you want professional, stand-alone English lessons conducted in a warm and friendly atmosphere then our highly popular General English Course is the perfect answer to your needs.
If you prefer to study English with other subjects to make the most of your time in England, you have the option of studying on our English Plus Course. This is a combination of General English, ‘plus’ the opportunity to choose from a diverse range of exciting subjects, with something to suit all tastes. Courses include art, gardening, fashion, drama, history, screen-printing, photography, environmental studies, media, British culture and creative English.
An exciting social and cultural calendar
It’s not all work! We make sure you have every opportunity to socialise with your fellow students. You’ll also get to know the teaching staff outside of the classroom environment. The Loxdale social calendar lasts throughout the year. Our varied programme of activities includes cultural excursions salsa lessons, games evenings, films, barbecues, sports activities, quizzes, cooking and much more. So let your hair down and have fun!
The school also has a well-equipped common room and a computer room for students to use in their free time.
Value for money
Whilst always maintaining the highest academic standards, Loxdale courses are competitively priced and represent excellent value for money.
Loxdale English Centre is also a Swedish Folk High School. This means that adult students from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden are eligible to have their course fees financed through a government grant, effectively making the course free. Students from the Nordic countries can also apply for a grant or funding to meet the cost of accommodation and food.

High standards in teaching English
Since it was founded in 1968, the Loxdale English Centre has delivered over 7,000 educational programmes. Our language teachers have several years’ experience in the teaching of English as a foreign language. As a further guarantee of the quality, the school is accredited by the British Council for teaching English and a member of English UK.

We actively encourage critical study while nurturing tolerance and respect for all people, cultures and ideas. Students get many opportunities of influencing different components of the course – from social activities to the syllabus.
Join the majority of our students who live with our specially selected and monitored home stay families; alternatively you may choose to stay in a recommended hotel or guest house. The school also has a dining area and kitchen which provides fresh, wholesome food (including vegetarian) each day.
