Accommodation & Welfare - Other
Bed & breakfast / hotel accommodation
Some short stay students choose to live in a Bed & Breakfast or hotel. Our Accommodation and Welfare Officer is very happy to help make a reservation for you.
The nearest recommended hotel is the Adastral Hotel in Hove. This is a Victorian building with easy bus links to both the centre of Brighton and the school for those who do not want to walk. The hotel is family run with comfortable rooms and good facilities.
It has a bar and is situated close to the seafront.
Renting your own accommodation
Occasionally students choose to rent their own accommodation. We do not recommend this as it does tend to stop students from speaking as much English as they would if they lived with a host family. However, if a student wishes we are happy to advise about where they might look for their own flat or house. Students should be prepared to have the names and details of at least two people who have known them for a couple of years who can act as referees for prospective landlords. At least one of these should be a past employer or landlord.
English Test!
Unsure of what level of English you are? Want to know what areas you need to brush up on? Take the free English test from The British Council to find out.
“I have been at the school for 23 weeks and have learnt lots of English. I really think my all my skills are good in English. It’s also been great fun to meet so many people that you really get to know well during the term.”
