Student accommodation – homestay families
While some of our students choose to stay in hotels or guesthouses, the majority prefer to live with our specially selected and monitored homestay families.
Homestay accommodation
We recognise that one of the most important keys to a successful and rewarding stay is that students have a relaxed and welcoming family to live with. Your comfort, happiness and welfare are vitally important to us, and we are committed to making your time in the UK as enjoyable as possible. Many of our students stay for a long period and we spend a lot of time selecting the right family for them. Staying with a family is the best way to get to know a country and its language and is the cheapest option for living in the UK.
On your booking form you have the opportunity to put any special requests such as dietary requirements, allergies to pets, special needs and interests, etc. This information then helps our accommodation and welfare officer choose a family suitable for you.
Your accommodation is arranged from Sunday to Saturday. You will have your own room with sufficient storage areas, and you will be the only student from your own country living with that family.
School dining
The school has a dining area and kitchen which provides fresh wholesome food (including vegetarian) each day. A snack bar and a la carte menu is available Mondays to Fridays. With advance notice we can also provide for special diets such as gluten-free, vegan, lactose-intolerant or allergies. For some extreme diets or those with gluten allergies an extra charge may be made. See the price list for details.
Dining options
Students can choose one of the following options when living with their homestay family:
- Bed & Breakfast. The student only has their breakfast provided by their host family. In this instance students can supply their own lunch to eat at school or can buy lunch from the school dining room. Students can make their own light dinner on a self catering basis at their host family.
- Half Board Lunch. The student has breakfast with their host family and a full hot lunch at school. Students can make their own light dinner on a self catering basis at their host family.
- Half Board Dinner. The student has breakfast and dinner with their host family. Students then provide their own lunch or can buy lunch from the school dining room.
- Full Board. The student has breakfast and dinner with their host family and a full hot lunch at school.
At weekends, accommodation is on a Half Board Dinner basis with your homestay family.
